  5. Changes for Version 4 (7/29/96):

  7. 1) Added Balance At Year-End columns for the five funds in the yearly
  8.    contribution breakdowns section, showing the growth of each of the
  9.    funds up to retirement.
  10. 2) Added yearly earnings summary columns to the right of the contribution
  11.    breakdowns giving the totals for the five funds for both the Balance
  12.    At Year-End and the Value At Retirement yearly amounts.
  13. 3) Modified the yearly contribution breakdowns printout (Alt-F8) to print
  14.    the fund accounts on separate pages and to only print those pages which
  15.    actually have accounts.
  16. 4) Changed the Total At Retirement descriptions for the five funds in the
  17.    yearly contribution breakdowns section to the more appropriate title of
  18.    Value At Retirement For This Year.  Made additional description changes,
  19.    especially in the Yearly Payouts with COLA section.
  20. >> Note: The data files (.WKB) are not compatible between versions 3 and 4,
  21.    so, don't try to use version 3 data files with this release.  Re-enter
  22.    your data in this version and save it to produce a version 4 data file.

  25. Changes for Version 3 (5/6/96):

  27. 1) Added Alt-function keys to print different sections of the spreadsheet,
  28.    including AF5 - Data Entry, AF6 - Resulting Payouts, AF7 - Yearly Payouts
  29.    with COLA, AF8 - Yearly Contribution Breakdowns, and AF1 - combination of
  30.    AF5, AF6, and AF7.
  31. 2) Added Yearly Payouts with COLA using the individual historical returns of
  32.    the funds to show the payouts when the resulting retirement balances are
  33.    left to grow in the funds instead of moved to a fixed-return account.
  34.    (The Yearly Payouts with COLA at a fixed percent return is still there.)
  35. 3) Added retirement dollars to baseline dollars inflation conversion factor
  36.    so you can do your own dollars conversion calculations.  Multiply the
  37.    amount at retirement by the factor to get the equivalent amount at the
  38.    baseline year.  (Divide the amount at the baseline year by the factor
  39.    to get the amount at retirement needed to match that baseline amount.)
  40.    The conversion factor was also added for each of the retirement payout
  41.    years (to the right of the Yearly Payouts with COLA amounts).

  44. Changes for Version 2 (4/15/96):

  46. 1) Combined primary data entry values and results summary into one screen,
  47.    to see a quick overview of the changes and their effects without having
  48.    to page between screens to make the changes and view the results.
  49. 2) Added a Help screen (F1) giving a brief overview of the data entry tasks
  50.    and other functions, keypress actions, and the print range descriptions
  51.    (which were also added to the readme file).
  52. 3) Added function keys to jump to different sections of the spreadsheet,
  53.    including F5 - Data Entry, F6 - Resulting Payouts, F7 - Yearly Payouts
  54.    with COLA, and F8 - Yearly Contribution Breakdowns.
  55. 4) Eliminated the extra space at the end of the spreadsheet to keep from
  56.    paging down past the bottom-most entries in the spreadsheet.
  57. 5) Added several auxilliary files for the shareware bundle, including the
  58.    license and the file_id.diz program description file.
  59. 6) Added the notes from my seminar about investing in mutual funds for
  60.    retirement, with facts about the stock market and its ups and downs.
